Reverse description A mounted figure, representing the Tsar, depicted as a spear-bearing horseman (the traditional 'Rider' or Vsadnik motif) galloping to the right on a prancing horse. The spear is held aloft in the rider's right hand, directed forward. Beneath the hooves of the horse appear Cyrillic numerals recording the date of issue. The design follows the long-established iconographic tradition of Muscovite wire kopecks, with the image crudely but vigorously struck on an irregular elongated flan.
