Obverse description Obverse of this wire money (cheshuyка) depicts a mounted horseman in profile facing right, shown as the Tsar-warrior brandishing a lance or spear, a design type inherited from earlier Muscovite coinage. The figure is rendered in a highly stylised, archaic manner characteristic of hammered wire kopecks of the period, with radial decorative elements visible around the rider in the irregular field. The surface displays natural patination consistent with a silver-alloy coin of this era. The abbreviated Cyrillic mint mark 'СЕ' (denoting the Moscow mint workshop) appears in the field. The flan is of typical elongated, irregular oval shape produced by cutting sections from a drawn silver wire prior to striking.
