Obverse description Equestrian effigy of the Tsar depicted as a mounted warrior, galloping to the right, brandishing a spear in the raised right hand. The figure is rendered in the traditional Russian wire money style, with the horse in full stride. Mint initials or letters appear beneath the hooves of the horse in Cyrillic characters, serving as the mint mark for the Moscow Mint. The design is struck on an irregular flan typical of wire kopecks of this period, with the relief bold but the legends and motif often partially off-flan due to the small planchet size.
