| Obverse description | Tsar on horseback facing right, depicted as an armored equestrian figure brandishing a spear or lance downward toward a prostrate foe beneath the horse's hooves, in the traditional Russian wire money style. The horseman wears a crown and is rendered in the crude but vigorous hammered relief characteristic of early Romanov coinage. The mint mark МО (abbreviation for МОСКВА) appears in the lower field beneath the horse, identifying the Moscow Mint. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of chekhi (wire money) produced by cutting silver wire and striking between hand-cut dies. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription arranged across the field of the irregular flan, reading the full intitulature of Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich in abbreviated form. The legend, disposed in several horizontal lines, proclaims the tsar's titles in the customary formula used on Muscovite wire money of this period. The lettering is boldly struck in raised relief, with individual characters showing the characteristic angular forms of early 17th-century Russian die-cutting. As is typical of this series, the legend is often partially off-flan due to the small, irregular planchet size. |
