| Obverse description | Depiction of a mounted horseman (the sovereign) armed with a spear, galloping to the right in the typical wire money style of Muscovite coinage. The rider is rendered in a schematic, elongated manner characteristic of hammered wire kopecks of the period. The Cyrillic letters ГР appear beneath the horse's hooves, serving as a mintmark abbreviation for Господарь (Gospоdar) or Государь (Gosudar), denoting the title of Lord or Sovereign, and identifying the Pskov mint issue. The design occupies an irregular flan produced by cutting from a flattened silver wire. |
