Obverse description Armored equestrian figure of the Tsar depicted in right profile, mounted on a galloping horse, brandishing a long spear held diagonally across the flan. The rider wears period military dress and is shown in dynamic motion characteristic of the wire money kopeck type. Below the horse, the Pskov mint mark appears in Cyrillic within a cartouche. The design occupies the full irregular flan, with details rendered in the bold, schematic style typical of sixteenth-century Russian hammered coinage.
