Obverse description A mounted horseman, depicted in right profile, galloping on horseback and brandishing a long spear — the iconic image that gave the kopeck its name. The rider is rendered in the characteristic flat, linear style of Muscovite wire money. Mint letters appear beneath the hooves of the horse, serving as a mintmark identifier for the Velikiy Novgorod mint. The design occupies the entire irregular flan, with the legend fragments visible around the field.

Reverse description A five-line Cyrillic inscription arranged horizontally across the flan in the characteristic format of Muscovite wire kopecks of the period. The legend reads the full royal title of Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich, identifying him as Tsar and Grand Prince of all Rus. The text is rendered in a compact, angular Cyrillic script typical of late 16th-century Russian hammered coinage. Due to the irregular shape and small size of the flan, portions of the legend may be partially struck or off-flan.
