| Obverse description | Armored equestrian figure facing right, brandishing a spear aloft with the right hand while mounted on a galloping horse rendered in the characteristic schematic style of Russian wire money. The design fills the irregular flan with the rider occupying the upper field and the horse's legs extending toward the lower margin. Cyrillic mint letters 'о М' appear in the lower field beneath the horse, denoting the Moscow Mint. The entire composition is executed in the bold, compressed relief typical of seventeenth-century Russian hammered coinage. |
