| Obverse description | A mounted horseman, representing the Tsar, depicted in profile facing right on a galloping horse, holding a spear or lance in the raised right hand. The design is struck on an irregular, flat planchet cut from copper wire, characteristic of the wire money (проволочные деньги) coinage tradition. The relief is low and the strike uneven, consistent with the primitive hammered technique employed at the Moscow New Mint during the emergency copper coinage of Alexei Mikhailovich's reign. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field, conveying the full titular legend of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. The text is arranged in compressed, abbreviated lines across the irregular flan, typical of mid-17th century Russian wire kopecks, and reads in full: ЦАРЬ И ВЕЛИКИЙ КНЯЗЬ АЛЕКСЕЙ МИХАЙЛОВИЧ ВСЕЯ ВЕЛИКИЯ И МАЛЫЯ И БЕЛЫЯ РОСИИ. The legends identify the sovereign as Tsar and Grand Duke of All the Russias — Great, Minor, and White. The lettering is characteristically crude and uneven due to the hammered wire-money production method. The coin belongs to the controversial copper coinage series that precipitated the Moscow Copper Riot of 1662. |
