Obverse description Central device depicting the Tsar on horseback in profile, shown as an armed equestrian figure riding to the right, with a lance or spear raised in the right hand — a traditional motif inherited from earlier Russian wire money (chekha). The design is struck in low relief on an irregular flan, characteristic of hammered wire coinage of the period. The field is plain with no surrounding legend on this face. The style is crude but consistent with mid-17th century Muscovite hammered coinage conventions.
