| Obverse description | Conjoined busts of King Haakon VII and Queen Maud in profile facing right, both crowned, with the king in uniform in the foreground and the queen slightly behind. A circumscribed legend runs around the upper portion of the field, and the engraver's signature appears in the lower field. The medal is surmounted by an ornate suspension loop featuring an interlaced royal cipher beneath a crown. |
