Additional information

Fath Shah's first reign over Kashmir ran from 1389 to 1413, interrupted by a period of deposition that reflects the chronic dynastic instability of the Sultanate during this period. The copper kaserah was the workhorse denomination of Kashmiri monetary life — silver was scarce in the valley, and copper filled the gap left by geography and limited trade routes through the Himalayas.
