| Obverse description | A boldly rendered hollow cross motif occupies the central field, formed by raised rectilinear arms arranged in an equal-armed configuration with stepped or hooked terminals characteristic of the Shunga period decorative vocabulary. The design is cast in low relief against a plain, unadorned field, filling nearly the entire flan. No inscription or legend is present. The irregular flan edge reflects the hand-cast production technique typical of post-Mauryan copper coinage. |
