| Reverse description | A mounted horseman is depicted in profile facing right, holding a lance, in the style derived directly from the earlier Chahamana (Chauhan) coinage of North India. A Devanagari legend reading 'sri prithvi raya deva' is inscribed above the horseman in the upper field, retaining the name of the defeated Rajput ruler Prithviraj III of the Chauhan dynasty. This deliberate retention of the previous ruler's name and imagery on the reverse constitutes the 'mule' character of this issue, combining Ghurid obverse iconography with the inherited Chauhan reverse type. The flan is irregular and the strike shows characteristic weakness at the margins. |
