| Obverse description | Square Kufic legend arranged in three horizontal registers within a decorative frame, the inscription occupying the full field of the flan. The bold, angular Arabic lettering is characteristic of the square Kufic style employed on Ghaznavid billon jitals. The legend is contained within a linear border, with the text disposed symmetrically across the die. The flat, hammered flan displays the irregular outline typical of hand-struck issues of this series. |
