Reverse description The reverse presents a central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged horizontally within a plain inner border, conveying the ruler's name and titles in the established Ghurid epigraphic tradition. The marginal legend encircling the central device is contained within a beaded border and carries additional formulaic Arabic text, partially obscured by flan irregularities and corrosion. The script is executed in a robust, somewhat angular Kufic-influenced style characteristic of eastern Islamic hammered coinage of the late 12th to early 13th century. Green cuprous patination covers much of the reverse field, attesting to the billon composition and the coin's considerable age.
