Reverse description The reverse presents a three-line Arabic legend arranged horizontally across the central field, enclosed within a concentric border of solid, beaded, and solid circular lines, mirroring the obverse framing device. The inscription, in the Kufic-influenced script typical of Khwarazmian coinage of Sultan 'Ala al-Din Muhammad II, carries the ruler's titles and/or the shahada. The die is worn and the flan irregular, rendering portions of the legend partially legible on this example.
