The Route de la Liberté commemorates the Allied victory and liberation of France, Belgium and Luxembourg during the Second World War. It is marked by a series of milestones along the road network between Sainte-Mère-Église (milestone 0) and Utah Beach (milestone 00), in Normandy, and Bastogne, in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, marking the route followed by the American 3rd Army (Wikipedia) Two paratroopers and a soldier around the milestone, with the US flag in the background.
