Obverse description Central device features the joined shields of France (semé of fleurs-de-lys) and Navarre (chain cross), surmounted by a closed royal crown, with a crowned initial L flanked by two small coronets between the shields. The whole is encircled by the linked chains of the Orders of Saint-Michel and the Holy Spirit. Latin titulature legend surrounds the entire design.
