Obverse description The arms of Armand-Jérôme Bignon displayed on a crowned heraldic shield supported on either side by two standing angels as supporters, the whole rendered in high relief. A circular Latin legend surrounds the device, with the date 1765 appearing in the lower portion of the legend. The engraver's mark 'DUT' is visible in the lower field.

Reverse description The arms of the city of Paris depicted on an ornate Baroque cartouche shield, quarterly with fleurs-de-lis in chief and a sailing ship in base, flanked by two fish and laurel branches as supporters, with a scallop shell crest above.
