| Obverse description | The upper field depicts a high-relief view of the three towers of San Marino (Guaita fortress) atop Mount Titano, surrounded by a ring of twelve stars on the outer border. In the lower portion of the field, two gilt overlapping coin effigies are shown in relief: one bearing a bust of Saint Marinus with the legend SAN MARINO and date 2004, the other displaying the EURO inscription. The legend SAN MARINO 2004 appears in large raised letters along the lower rim. |
