Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Napoleon III in high relief, facing right, with characteristic moustache and imperial beard. The legend NAPOLEON III is inscribed along the left facets and EMPEREUR along the right facets of the octagonal flan. The engraver's signature PINGRET appears in small letters below the truncation.
