| Obverse description | The obverse displays the host coin's field — a crowned lion passant to the right, accompanied by a decorative palm branch, all within a beaded inner circle — upon which two Russian countermarks have been applied: a rectangular cartouche punch bearing the date 1655 in Cyrillic numerals, and a circular horseman countermark depicting a mounted rider with a raised spear, both characteristic marks authorized under Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich. The surrounding legend of the underlying Schwarzenburg Taler reads in Latin along the outer rim. The countermarks are bold and deeply struck into the host coin's field. |
