Reverse description The reverse displays the complex quartered arms of the Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp diocese surmounted by an ornate crested helmet, with elaborate mantling extending into the fields on either side. The heraldic shield is divided into multiple quarters bearing lions, eagles, and stripes characteristic of the Holstein and Schleswig territories. A partial Latin legend surrounds the design. A second oval Russian countermark — depicting a mounted Tsar and the date 1655 — may appear on this side depending on the specific specimen, as jefimok countermarks were sometimes applied to the reverse.
