| Obverse description | The obverse of the host coin depicts the iconic Brunswick Wildman (Wilder Mann), a hirsute mythological figure standing facing, his body covered in foliage, holding an uprooted tree trunk in his right hand and resting his left hand upon a shield bearing the Brunswick lion. The figure is set within a beaded oval cartouche, flanked by decorative foliage and floral ornaments. Applied over the field is the Russian countermark of 1655, consisting of a crowned equestrian effigy of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich moving right — the standard Moscow mint counterstamp — struck alongside the date mark '1655'. The legend surrounding the field reads ANNO 1632 and DEO, referencing the original host taler's date of issue. |
