| Reverse description | The reverse displays a similarly crude and worn design, with a large central raised device appearing to imitate the stepped or architectural motif found on genuine South Indian pagodas, surrounded by indistinct subsidiary elements in the field. A prominent row of raised globules arches across the upper portion of the flan, echoing the beaded border of the official prototype but rendered with uneven spacing and irregular sizing. The surface shows considerable wear and tooling marks consistent with hand-engraved imitation dies. No legible inscription or legend is present, and the overall execution reflects the rudimentary craftsmanship typical of locally produced counterfeit pagodas circulating in the Deccan and South Indian trade sphere during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. |
