Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the radiate crown with prominent spikes, segmented cuirass with shoulder straps, and paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief with a short beard rendered in fine detail. The imperial titulature legend runs clockwise around the periphery in Greek characters, within a beaded border.
