Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial tradition with naturalistic portrait features including strong jaw and prominent neck. The laurel wreath is rendered with fine detail, with individual leaves clearly articulated. A Greek legend surrounds the portrait, distributed along the upper and right periphery of the flan. The portrait style reflects the civic coinage workshops of Cilicia, combining Roman imperial iconography with local artistic conventions.
