| Obverse description | Eagle standing left, wings spread, devouring a hare held in its talons. Two pellets (value marks) flanking the eagle in the field, one to the lower left and one to the lower right. The rendering of the plumage is detailed and naturalistic, characteristic of the refined Akragantine bronze coinage of the late fifth century BC. The partial legend ΑΚΡΑ appears in the field. |
