| Obverse description | Laureate head of Heracles facing right, depicted with flowing locks of hair framing the face and characteristic leonine features, rendered in the naturalistic Hellenistic style typical of Pontic Greek coinage of the mid-4th century BC. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan, with the lion-skin headdress partially visible at the crown. The die work is bold and confident, displaying strong relief despite the irregular flan. |
