Reverse description The reverse bears a large, prominently struck value mark consisting of the Greek numeral signs for seven chalkoi: a chi (Χ) flanked by four vertical strokes (IIII) and a pi (Π), rendered in bold relief and occupying the majority of the field. Below the value mark appears a small control mark or magistrate's symbol. The field is otherwise plain, with no border evident. This value notation serves as an unambiguous denomination indicator consistent with the Sicilian bronze and small silver fractional series of the period.
