Reverse description A bold decorative cross pattée dominates the field, formed by the interlaced crowned monogram of Henri II composed of the letters H and D (for Diane de Poitiers), with a central pellet. The four angles of the cross are filled with alternating devices: two crescents (the personal emblem of Henri II) and two fleurs-de-lis, reflecting the royal symbolism of the Valois monarchy. A crown surmounts the central cipher at the top. The mint mark letter D, indicating the Lyon mint, appears within the central monogram. The surrounding Latin legend DVM TOTVM COMPLEAT ORBEM, accompanied by the date 1560, encircles the entire composition.
