| Obverse description | Radiate facing head of Helios, the sun god, rendered in high relief at centre of the flan, turned very slightly to the right. The deity's curly hair radiates outward from the crown of the head in multiple short rays, framing a youthful, idealized visage with finely modelled brow, deep-set eyes, and full lips. The effigy is executed in the characteristic Rhodian artistic tradition, reflecting the high-quality die-engraving associated with the island's late Hellenistic coinage. The field around the head is plain, and the irregular flan edge is typical of hammered gold coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | Central device of a rose in full bloom with a single bud to the left, the civic emblem of Rhodes, flanked by the letters Ρ and Ο in the left and right fields respectively, forming an abbreviation of ΡΟΔΙΩΝ. The magistrate's name ΤΙΜΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ is inscribed above the rose. Below and to the right appears a hand, serving as a secondary control symbol. The entire design is set within a shallow square incuse punch, a hallmark of Rhodian gold coinage production technique. |
