Obverse description Bare head of a youthful satyr in right profile, rendered in archaic Greek style characteristic of Panticapaean coinage. The satyr displays distinctly pointed animal ears amid flowing, heavily striated hair swept back from the brow. Facial features are finely modelled despite the diminutive flan, with a straight nose and slightly parted lips conveying a naturalistic vitality. The design occupies the full field of the irregular flan with no border or legend.
