Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in archaic-to-early classical style. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, revealing flowing hair with curling locks descending before the ear. The facial features are finely modelled in high relief for the small module, with a pronounced jawline and carefully delineated eye. The surfaces of the helmet bowl show subtle engraved detail consistent with late fifth-century Lesbian coinage style.

Reverse description A bunch of grapes depicted in high relief, shown hanging with individual berries rendered as distinct raised pellets arranged in a naturalistic cluster with a short stalk at the apex. The design is contained within a plain linear circle (incuse border), set against a flat, unadorned field. The grape cluster is the principal civic emblem of Methymna, a city on the island of Lesbos renowned for its viticulture, and serves as the sole device on this diminutive reverse.
