| Reverse description | Dove standing to left within a shallow incuse square, wings partially spread as if alighting or in a walking pose; the feathers of the wings are rendered with fine engraved detail. To the upper right of the bird, the retrograde or abbreviated ethnic inscription appears in two characters within the incuse field, flanking the dove. The incuse technique is characteristic of Peloponnesian minting practice of the mid-fifth century BC. |
