| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo Clarios facing right, rendered with long flowing hair elegantly arranged behind the neck. The laureate wreath is depicted in fine relief, characteristic of late Classical Ionian die-cutting. The portrait exhibits the idealized, youthful features associated with the god Apollo as venerated at the sanctuary of Claros near Kolophon. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of bronze coinage of this period and region. |
