Reverse description The reverse presents a deeply struck quadripartite incuse square, divided by two perpendicular grooves into four recessed compartments of roughly equal size, characteristic of the early Greek hammered coinage technique. The incuse design is bold and geometrically regular, filling the majority of the reverse field. The surface of each quadrant displays the granular texture typical of the punch used in striking. No inscription or additional devices are present. This standard incuse punch reverse is consistent with Kyzikene electrum fractional coinage of the archaic period.
