Reverse description Deeply struck quadripartite incuse square dominating the entire reverse, divided into four recessed triangular sections by two diagonal grooves intersecting at the center, creating an X-shaped pattern within the incuse punch. The incuse is irregular in outline, consistent with early hand-struck archaic technique, and shows no additional devices, symbols, or inscriptions. This reverse type is characteristic of the earliest electrum coinage attributed to uncertain Ionian minting authorities of the late seventh and early sixth centuries BC.
