Reverse description An upright thunderbolt, depicted in highly stylized form with radiating wings and a central elongated body, dominates the center of the reverse field. To the right of the thunderbolt stands a single barley grain rendered in fine relief, a symbol of Sicilian agricultural abundance. The encircling legend ΣYPAK-OΣIΩN, denoting the Syracusans, is distributed around the periphery of the flan. The composition is bold and emblematic, consistent with the civic bronze coinage of the Timoleontic reform series.
