| Obverse description | Forepart of a lion to right, head reverted to left with jaws agape, displaying finely rendered teeth and a boldly striated mane. The musculature of the shoulders and forelegs is rendered in high relief with considerable artistic skill. The lion's body rests upon a ground line indicated by a cable or rope pattern at the lower field. The design fills the flan in a dynamic and vigorous manner characteristic of Chersonesean civic coinage of the 4th century BC. No legend or inscription appears in the field. |

| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square divided diagonally into four triangular sections, alternating between raised (relief) and sunken (incuse) quarters, a standard mill-sail or skew pattern characteristic of early Greek coinage. A six-petalled rosette occupies one of the raised quarters and a single pellet (dot) occupies the diagonally opposite raised quarter, serving as distinguishing control marks for this emission. The incuse execution is precise, with sharp angular borders delineating each compartment. No legend or lettering appears on the reverse. |
