Obverse description Youthful head of a satyr facing right, rendered in fine Greek style with curling hair bound by a wreath of ivy leaves and berries. The facial features are delicately modelled with a smooth, rounded cheek and slightly parted lips characteristic of late Classical Bosporan coinage. A cluster of ivy berries is visible near the ear, and flowing locks of hair fall across the neck. The field is plain and uninscribed, the design occupying the full flan.
