Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Mithridates VI facing right, portrayed with the idealized features of a Hellenistic ruler, his wavy hair swept back beneath a royal diadem. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous Hellenistic style, with strong facial modeling and a pronounced profile. The field is plain, with no legend present on the obverse. The flan is irregularly shaped, characteristic of hand-struck provincial silver coinage of the late 1st century BC.
