| Obverse description | Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, wreathed with ivy and clusters, the long hair flowing loosely down the neck in the Hellenistic style. A thyrsos is depicted behind the head in the left field, its tip visible near the upper rim. The modelling is accomplished, with fine die-engraving rendering the god's soft facial features and the layered vegetal wreath in high relief. No legend appears on the obverse. |
