| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Apollo facing right, his hair rendered in elaborate wavy locks with a twisted braid falling behind the neck and a laurel wreath adorning the head. The portrait is executed in fine Hellenistic style with well-modelled facial features including a strong brow, almond-shaped eye, and gently parted lips. The legend ΛΥ, denoting the Lycian League, appears in the field, partially visible along the right margin. The flan is slightly irregular, characteristic of hand-struck provincial silver coinage of the period. |
