Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with a short curled beard rendered in the characteristic Hadrianic style. The emperor is depicted wearing a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, visible beneath the drapery. The bust is rendered with fine detail, exhibiting the naturalistic portraiture typical of early second-century provincial coinage from Cappadocia. The Greek legend encircles the bust, reading from the lower left around the field.
