Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus Hamarios facing right, rendered with considerable artistic skill, the god's mature visage featuring a full, curling beard and flowing hair bound with a laurel wreath. The deeply modelled facial features display high-relief die-cutting characteristic of late Achaean League coinage. The magistrate's name KAΛΛIΠΠOΣ is inscribed in the left field in Greek letters. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered silver coinage of this period and region.
