Obverse description A male figure, likely a horseman or deity, rendered in archaic Greek style, stands facing with head turned to the left, extending his right arm to lead a horse that stands facing left with its head turned back to the right. Both figures are depicted in the round within a plain field, the composition occupying the full flan in characteristic early Ionian hammered style. The modelling is bold and schematic, consistent with the artistic conventions of fifth-century BC Asia Minor coinage.
