Obverse description Forepart of a lion rampant to right, head turned back to face left, with open jaws and tongue protruding, depicted in high relief with finely rendered mane rendered in layered feather-like striations. The forelegs are raised and the paws are clearly articulated, with a coiled tail visible beneath the body. The design is rendered in a bold, archaic Greek artistic style characteristic of Thracian Chersonesos coinage, with no surrounding legend or border.
