| Obverse description | Large eagle's head facing left in high relief, rendered in bold archaic style with a pronounced hooked beak curving downward toward a serpent depicted in the lower field. The raptor's eye is rendered with careful detail, and the feathering of the head and neck is suggested by incised lines along the right side. The composition fills the flan nearly to its edges, consistent with the vigorous artistic conventions of late 5th-century Elean coinage. |
